2024 Kia Seltos vs 2024 Hyundai Kona

2024 Kia Seltos vs 2024 Hyundai Kona

Are you trying to decide between the 2024 Kia Seltos and 2024 Hyundai Kona? In the vast and rapidly evolving landscape of compact SUVs, the 2024 Kia Seltos and the 2024 Hyundai Kona stand out as two prime options for discerning car buyers. With a plethora of competitive features and alluring aesthetics, it’s essential for potential customers to dissect the details to determine which vehicle meets their particular needs and desires. This comprehensive comparison will guide you through the capabilities, design, technology, safety, and other essential features of both models. By the end, you’ll be better equipped to make an informed purchasing decision.

Before we unveil the distinct features of the 2024 Kia Seltos and the 2024 Hyundai Kona, it’s important to underline the significance of thorough comparison shopping when it comes to buying a car. Long gone are the days where a simple test drive and a glance under the hood could suffice. The modern car buyer is faced with an array of choices, each with unique features and packages. A detailed comparison allows you to put your money where it matters most – ensuring you not only get the best value but also that your new ride complements your lifestyle.

Capability and Performance Comparison

Both the 2024 Kia Seltos and the 2024 Hyundai Kona come equipped with various engine options, offering the versatility to prioritize either power or fuel economy. The Seltos is driven by two capable powertrains, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder, offering 146 and 175 horsepower, respectively. Those looking for an efficient drive will appreciate the Kona’s 2.0-liter and 1.6-liter options, delivering a similar power range while sipping fuel more conservatively.

Ensuring a sure grip in inclement weather and rough terrain, both the Seltos and Kona provide all-wheel drive (AWD) systems as an option. Kia offers the Dynamax™ AWD, which intuitively adjusts traction to varying road conditions. Hyundai’s HTRAC AWD system follows suit, promoting stability and handling with an electronically-controlled clutch.

For those who expect a little muscle from their compact crossover, the Seltos edges out slightly with a towing capacity of up to 2,000 pounds, compared to the Kona’s 1,300-pound maximum.

Exterior and Design Comparison

The appeal of any car is greatly influenced by its outward appearance, and both the Seltos and Kona have distinctive looks that cater to different tastes.

The Seltos showcases a commanding stance with its rugged design, accentuated by its muscular shoulder line and available two-tone roof. Meanwhile, the Kona boasts a more avant-garde approach with its sculpted body and intricate lighting signatures.

In terms of size, the Seltos excels by offering a more spacious cabin and a voluminous cargo area, making it an ideal choice for those who prioritize interior room. On the other hand, the Kona’s slightly smaller footprint and more urban-friendly proportions may be preferable for navigating tight city streets.

Those with an adventurous spirit will appreciate the Seltos’ available off-road performance features like an off-road drive mode and skid plates for extra protection. The Kona, while not as explicitly designed for off-roading, does offer solid ground clearance and an off-road-oriented N Line trim for those seeking a bit more ruggedness.

Interior and Comfort Comparison

The Seltos’ advantage in size directly translates to a more spacious interior, especially in the rear seats, which may bode well for taller passengers. It also offers an impressive number of storage options throughout the cabin. Conversely, the Kona, while slightly more compact, manages to provide sufficient space for its segment.

Both models offer a well-crafted interior with quality materials and soft-touch surfaces. However, the Seltos’ overall refinement and use of upscale materials may give it a slight edge in perceived quality, especially in the higher trim levels.

In terms of overall comfort, the Seltos and Kona are both well-appointed, offering features such as power-adjustable seating and heated front seats. The Seltos’ optional heated rear seats add an extra dose of comfort, which the Kona also offers but in the form of a power sunroof and a wireless charging pad.

Technology and Entertainment Options Comparison

Both models boast user-friendly infotainment systems, with the Seltos offering an 8-inch touchscreen as standard equipment, upgradeable to a 10.25-inch unit. The Kona is equipped with a 7-inch display as standard, which can be enlarged to an 8-inch screen. The availability of in-built navigation and smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is consistent across both vehicles.

Sound aficionados will appreciate the Seltos’ available Bose audio system, which provides premium sound quality. The Kona offers a similar premium audio experience with its available Infinity® sound system.

When it comes to connectivity, both vehicles excel, featuring multiple USB ports and Bluetooth connectivity. The Seltos, however, goes a step further with the available UVO link system, which allows for remote start, climate control, and more through a smartphone app.

Safety and Security Comparison

The Seltos and Kona offer a suite of driver assistance features, including lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring. The Seltos, however, offers more advanced features like safe exit assist and cyclist detection, which may sway safety-conscious buyers in its direction.

In terms of safety, both vehicles are backed by solid crash-test ratings, with the Seltos and Kona both earning the highest scores in their respective evaluations. Buyers can be confident in the protection provided by either vehicle.

Both models are equipped with theft-deterrent systems and come with a variety of standard security features, such as alarm systems and engine immobilization.

Price and Warranty Comparison

The starting price of the Seltos is slightly lower than that of the Kona, offering a value proposition that appeals to budget-conscious consumers.

When it comes to ownership costs, the Seltos and Kona are backed by competitive warranties. Kia’s industry-leading 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty outshines the Kona’s 5-year/60,000-mile equivalent, potentially saving owners money in the long run.

Cost of maintenance and repairs are typically on par for both vehicles, and it’s always advisable to consult the manufacturer’s prescribed maintenance schedules and review reliability ratings from trusted sources before making a decision.

Conclusion

In conclusion, deciding between the 2024 Kia Seltos and the 2024 Hyundai Kona comes down to personal taste and priorities. The Seltos offers a more spacious interior, better towing capabilities, and a highly approachable starting price. The Kona, with its efficiency, urban-friendly dimensions, and avant-garde design, may appeal to those who value a trendier aesthetic and don’t require as much cargo space.

Ultimately, the right choice for you is the one that aligns with your individual lifestyle and preferences. It’s best to conduct a test drive, explore the available options, and evaluate the overall driving experience to make an informed decision. Remember, the perfect car isn’t just the one that’s well-reviewed or nicely priced – it’s the one that fits you like a glove as you begin your next automotive adventure.

2024 Kia Sorento vs 2024 Kia Sportage

2024 Kia Sorento vs 2024 Kia Sportage Comparison

Are you trying to decide between the 2024 Kia Sorento and 2024 Kia Sportage? Choosing a new car is one of the most exciting, yet daunting, tasks a consumer can face. With the multitude of options available, selecting the model that perfectly aligns with your needs and preferences can be a challenging endeavor. Kia, a name synonymous with value and reliability, has once again unveiled two contenders in the popular crossover segment; the 2024 Sorento and the 2024 Sportage. In this comprehensive comparison, we will dissect these vehicles across various categories to help you make an informed decision and drive away with the perfect Kia for your lifestyle.

Before you commence your deep dive into the nuts and bolts of these vehicles, a quick reminder about why comparing the latest automobile models is essential. While both the 2024 Kia Sorento and the 2024 Kia Sportage share the same ethos of quality and value, subtle differences can make one model more suited to your lifestyle than the other. By understanding these contrasts, you can ensure that your next vehicle purchase is not just good, but great.

Capability and Performance Comparison

When it comes to capability, both the Sorento and the Sportage are more than ready for whatever adventure you throw at them. The Sorento, slightly larger and broader in range, offers a 2.5L turbocharged engine that pushes out an impressive horsepower while maintaining a commendable fuel economy. The Sportage, on the other hand, focuses on nimbleness with its 1.6L engine, showing itself to be quick and efficient for urban jaunts.

Off-road enthusiasts will appreciate the Sorento’s available all-wheel drive system with Snow Mode, which adapts to various road conditions, while commuters might favor the Sportage’s standard front-wheel drive for its smooth handling on the highway. Both models showcase Kia’s traditional peppy performance, with the Sorento edging slightly ahead in terms of muscle.

Exterior and Design Comparison

The Sorento and Sportage both feature Kia’s updated design language, characterized by a fusion of sophistication and sportiness. The Sorento’s larger body and three-row seating layout give it a more substantial on-road presence, whereas the Sportage opts for a more athletic stance and a slightly reduced size, making it a perfect urban companion.

On a closer look, the Sorento appeals to those who appreciate a sculpted, robust vehicle, with bold lines that give it a corporate but rugged look, suitable for a wide range of uses. Conversely, the Sportage’s more aerodynamic and sleek lines convey a sense of agility and efficiency, which might win over urban drivers.

Interior and Comfort Comparison

Step inside the cabins of these vehicles and you’ll find interiors that are designed to maximize comfort and convenience. The Sorento’s larger size translates to a more spacious interior with optional third-row seating, making it the choice for families or those looking to carry extra cargo. The Sportage doesn’t fall short, providing ample space for five passengers and a generous amount of cargo area, perfect for daily errands.

The Sorento woos with a more upscale interior, including features like available Nappa leather seats and a panoramic sunroof that add a touch of luxury to its already refined design. The Sportage, while not as opulent, is no less in terms of convenience, with a driver-centric design that places all controls within easy reach.

Technology and Entertainment Comparison

In this digital age, in-car technology is perhaps as important as the engine that propels it. Both the Sorento and Sportage boast a plethora of tech features aimed at enhancing the driving experience. The Sorento comes equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with an available 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that is both stylish and informative.

The Sportage, meanwhile, features an 8-inch or optional 10.25-inch touchscreen with similar compatibility. Both models come with Kia’s UVO link connected car services, providing remote access and emergency assistance. It’s a close call, but the Sorento’s larger infotainment system and more extensive range of features give it a slight edge in this category.

Safety and Security Comparison

Kia’s commitment to safety is evident in the features found in both the Sorento and Sportage. Both models come with a suite of advanced driver-assistance features, including forward collision avoidance, lane-keeping assistance, and a driver attention warning system. The Sorento ups the ante with available blind-spot monitoring with collision avoidance, providing an extra layer of security on the road.

In terms of passive safety, both vehicles are designed with a focus on structural rigidity, with advanced airbag systems protecting occupants in the event of a collision. An important factor to note here is how Kia’s tradition of building dependable, safe vehicles shines through equally in both models.

Price and Warranty Comparison

Money matters, and in this case, both vehicles offer value in their respective segments. The Sorento, with its slightly higher starting price, reflects the additional features and options that come with its larger size. The Sportage, being a bit more affordable, might attract buyers who are looking for a compact crossover that will not only kiss the wallet gently at the dealership but also at the gas pump with its impressive fuel efficiency.

Kia’s industry-leading warranty, with coverage for 10 years or 100,000 miles on powertrain components, ensures that you are covered for the long haul. This robust warranty remains a staple for Kia and adds considerable value to both the Sorento and the Sportage.

Conclusion

With all these factors considered, it’s evident that both the 2024 Kia Sorento and the 2024 Kia Sportage are exceptional vehicles in their own right. The Sorento’s spaciousness, additional features, and optional third-row seating cater to those with larger families or a need for more cargo space. The Sportage, with its dynamic handling, urban-friendly size, and slightly more affordable starting price, is a perfect fit for the modern city dweller.

Ultimately, the decision between the two will come down to your individual needs and preferences. If you desire a vehicle with more brawn and versatility, the Sorento is the clear choice. For those who lean toward a more compact and agile ride, the Sportage will not disappoint. Whichever you choose, you can be confident that you’re selecting a Kia—a marque that consistently delivers on its promise of quality, innovation, and cutting-edge design.

2024 Kia Telluride vs 2024 Hyundai Palisade

Are you trying to decide between the 2024 Kia Telluride and 2024 Hyundai Palisade? The search for a new car can often feel like navigating a dense forest without a map. This is where car comparisons come to the rescue, illuminating the path with information, insights, and sometimes a few surprises. In this detailed overview, we’re putting the 2024 Kia Telluride and the 2024 Hyundai Palisade head-to-head so that you, the intrepid car buyer, can make an informed decision.

Despite our high-tech age, the car remains one of the most significant purchases you’ll make. Your vehicle is your home-on-wheels, your sanctuary during the daily commute, and it’s all about the destination during those epic family road trips. Therefore, choosing the right one can make a substantial difference in your everyday life. But how do you ensure that you’re picking the model that best suits your needs?

When considering a purchase as impactful as an SUV, it’s essential to look at every aspect — from capability to comfort, style, and technology. The 2024 Kia Telluride and the 2024 Hyundai Palisade are two SUVs that have carved their niche in the market, offering impressive performance and a host of features. In order to help you with your car-buying quest, we’re breaking down their similarities and differences across several categories.

Capability and Performance Comparison

Under the hood, both the Telluride and the Palisade offer strong, V6 performance. The Telluride comes with a 3.8-liter V6 engine that offers 291 horsepower, while the Palisade’s 3.8-liter Lambda V6 engine provides the same amount of power. When it comes to fuel efficiency, the two vehicles are very close, with EPA-estimates suggesting that the Palisade might have a slight edge with 22mpg in the city and 28mpg on the highway compared to the Telluride’s 20mpg city and 26mpg highway.

For those with towing needs, both vehicles offer a robust towing capacity with the ability to tow up to 5,000 pounds. In terms of handling, the Telluride is often praised for its more nimble, less-truck-like ride, making it a top choice for urban dwellers who still want that weekend warrior capability.

Exterior and Design Comparison

In terms of design, both models have unique aesthetics. The Telluride features a more rugged, boxy design reminiscent of adventure-ready SUVs, while the Palisade presents a more curvaceous and modern look. The Telluride’s design has been lauded for its assertive presence, which shines in off-road settings, while the Palisade’s sleek appearance has won over city drivers.

Both vehicles have a standard 8-passenger seating configuration, with a spacious third row. However, the Telluride edges ahead in terms of cargo space with a maximum capacity of 87 cubic feet, compared to the Palisade’s 86.4 cubic feet. When it comes to squeezing into city parking spaces, the Palisade’s 196.1-inch length is slightly more manageable than the Telluride at 196.9 inches.

Interior and Comfort Comparison

Inside, the Telluride and the Palisade offer comfortable and upscale interiors. The Telluride boasts various seating materials, including genuine leather and synthetic leather, across its trim levels. The Palisade, on the other hand, offers premium Nappa leather and quilted leather options, lending it a touch of luxury.

In terms of cabin noise and ride comfort, both SUVs excel at isolating passengers from the outside world. The Palisade, however, has been noted for its slightly quieter cabin, largely due to added insulation and sound-deadening materials.

Technology and Entertainment Options Comparison

Both the Telluride and the Palisade come with feature-rich infotainment systems. The Telluride offers an available 10.25-inch touchscreen, while the Palisade’s infotainment display is standard at 10.25 inches across all trims. In both vehicles, the systems support smartphone integration, along with subscription services for extra functionality.

For tech-savvy drivers, the Palisade may come out on top, featuring more USB ports spread across all three rows, ensuring that everyone can stay charged and connected. The Telluride features fewer ports as standard, though both vehicles have wireless charging available.

Safety and Security Comparison

Both the Telluride and the Palisade are equipped with an advanced suite of safety and driver-assistance features. Hyundai’s SmartSense and Kia’s Drive Wise packages offer adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist, and more. The Palisade ups the ante with an available Blind View Monitor that shows a live video feed of the driver’s blind spot when the turn signal is engaged, an option not seen in the Telluride.

In terms of safety, both SUVs have fared well in crash tests. The Telluride was a Top Safety Pick from the IIHS, with high marks in nearly every category. The Palisade achieved the same award, with excellent scores in crashworthiness and crash avoidance and mitigation.

Price and Warranty Comparison

Pricing can often be the deciding factor when it comes to choosing a vehicle. The Telluride is generally priced slightly higher in its base model as compared to the Palisade, but both offer a range of trims to cater to various budgets.

Both Kia and Hyundai are known for their extensive warranty coverage, and the Telluride and Palisade are no exceptions. The Telluride offers a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, while the Palisade matches it with the same coverage. The Palisade, however, offers complimentary scheduled maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles, which is a perk not available for the Telluride.

Conclusion

Comparisons between the 2024 Kia Telluride and the 2024 Hyundai Palisade reveal two impressive SUVs, each with its set of strengths. The Telluride shines with its commendable cabin quality, nuanced ride comfort, and practical features, making it a solid choice for those who value a balanced mix of utility and luxury. On the other hand, the Palisade draws attention with its more upscale offerings, tech-forward amenities, and slightly superior towing capacity, showing it to be a great choice for those who enjoy a more connected and premium driving experience.

In the end, the right SUV for you will depend on your individual preferences and how each vehicle aligns with your lifestyle and needs. Whether it’s the need for a capable vehicle for family and friends, or a reliable one for long commutes, be sure to test drive and evaluate each based on your own criteria. After all, the decision to bring home a new set of wheels should feel as good as hitting the open road in it.

2024 Kia Carnival vs 2024 Chrysler Pacifica

2024 Kia Carnival vs 2024 Chrysler Pacifica

Are you trying to decide between the 2024 Kia Carnival and 2024 Chrysler Pacifica? Car shopping, with so many options available, can often feel like navigating an automotive labyrinth of features, specifications, and prices. Vehicles like the 2024 Kia Carnival and the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica grab our attention, not just for being family favorites, but for their unique approach to comfort and convenience. For the savvy shopper looking for an authoritative resource, this article is a roadmap to the differences between the two leading contenders in the family vehicle market segment. At the end of this detailed comparison, you’ll be better equipped to decide which minivan suits your lifestyle.

Exploring the capability and design of these two vehicles will provide an in-depth look at the versatility and focus on detail each brand brings to the table. Family cars are no longer just about space and safety—they have become the hub of technology and comfort. By the time you finish reading, you’ll have a clear picture of how these vehicles match up in crucial areas such as performance, creature comforts, technological integrations, and safety features.

Capability and Performance Comparison

The ability of a family vehicle to handle the varied demands of a modern family cannot be overstated. Both the Kia Carnival and the Chrysler Pacifica are designed with capability and performance in mind. The Kia Carnival’s standard 3.5L V6 engine delivers an impressive 290 horsepower, compared to the Pacifica’s base 3.6L V6, which offers up to 287 horsepower.

The Carnival, however, truly starts to shine in its towing capacity, with a robust 3,500 lbs limit, making it an ideal companion for family vacations or quick weekend getaways with small boats or trailers. The Pacifica offers a slightly higher towing capacity at 3,600 lbs. Both vehicles handle well and are very capable competitors.

Exterior and Design Comparison

A minivan’s exterior design sets the tone for the brand’s vision and functionality. In terms of aesthetics, the Carnival embraces a more modern and boxier design, while the Pacifica opts for a sleeker, more aerodynamically focused shape. The Carnival features a broad front grille and a unique array of LED lights that blend into the design, offering a high-tech feel. The Pacifica, on the other hand, has a refined front-end design, along with available Stow ‘n Place roof rack that stows intuitively and stylishly when not in use.

When it comes to size, the Pacifica is a bit longer and wider, giving it a roomier interior. However, the Carnival benefits from a longer wheelbase, enhancing ride comfort for occupants. Ultimately, design is subjective, so your choice will depend on personal preference and what you value most in the appearance of your car.

Interior and Comfort Comparison

Minivans are synonymous with space and comfort, and both these models deliver in their respective ways. The Carnival boasts class-leading second-row legroom and a flexible “Slide-Flex” seating system, making it easy to adapt to various passenger and cargo needs. The Pacifica, however, boasts an elegant interior with ample space and offers an optional Stow ‘n Vac integrated vacuum to keep your vehicle immaculate, something the Carnival does not include in its design.

Both vehicles offer creature comforts like tri-zone climate control and heated seats, but the Pacifica also includes hands-free power sliding doors—a family-friendly convenience—available in select trims. The choice between these two will come down to personal preferences and specific needs regarding space and adaptability.

Technology and Entertainment Comparison

In the modern era, in-car technology and entertainment offerings can often be the deciding factor for many buyers. The Kia Carnival features an 8-inch touchscreen as standard, with an available 12.3-inch cluster. Integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a Bose Premium Audio system makes for an enjoyable ride.

The Pacifica is no slouch in this department either. With the Uconnect 5 system as standard, you get a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The available Uconnect Theater rear-seat entertainment system is a real highlight, offering an 10.1-inch touchscreen as well as Bluetooth headphones for private listening. Parents of young children might find the Pacifica’s in-car entertainment package hard to resist, as it’s certainly a crowd-pleaser.

Safety and Security Comparison

Car shoppers, particularly those with families, prioritize safety. The 2024 Kia Carnival comes equipped with an impressive suite of driver-assistance features known as Kia Drive Wise, which includes Forward Collision Avoidance, Lane Keeping Assist, and a Blind-Spot View Monitor. The Carnival offers these features as standard across all its trim levels.

The Chrysler Pacifica, too, provides a comprehensive package of safety features, branded as the Chrysler SafetyTec, which also includes many of the features found on the Carnival. One notable difference is the available surround-view camera system, which gives the Pacifica an edge in terms of visibility when navigating tight spots. Both models have earned high safety ratings, meaning you can’t go wrong with either in terms of protecting your loved ones on the road.

Price and Warranty Comparison

The cost of ownership includes not just the purchasing price, but also the cost of maintenance and repairs. Kia is known for its competitive pricing, so it’s no surprise that the Carnival usually offers a lower MSRP than the Pacifica. Pricing could be a deciding factor for budget-conscious families.

When it comes to warranty, Kia’s 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty is one of the best in the business, offering peace of mind for the long haul. Chrysler’s warranty, while not as extensive, is still competitive. If you’re planning to keep your vehicle for many years, this becomes a critical consideration.

Conclusion

Both the 2024 Kia Carnival and the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica have their specific strengths, and choosing between the two will largely depend on your individual needs and preferences. The Carnival impresses with its powertrain warranty and a flexible seating system, catering to those who value adaptability and cost-effective ownership. On the other hand, the Pacifica’s sleek design, integrated design, and family-focused in-car entertainment system may appeal to those who are willing to invest in additional convenience.

In the end, take the time to consider how you will use your new family vehicle. Visit a dealership to explore both options firsthand, and don’t hesitate to take a test drive. These are two family vehicles that offer loads of features, and whichever model you choose, you’re bound to enjoy the ride.

2023 Kia EV6 Range

2023 Kia EV6 Range

The 2023 Kia EV6 is a battery electric compact crossover SUV manufactured by Kia Motors. The EV6 was introduced in 2021 and hit the market for the 2022 model year. The Kia EV6 competes against other electric vehicles like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Tesla Model Y. In this article, we will explore the all electric range on the 2023 EV6.

What is the range of the 2023 Kia EV6?

The range of an electric vehicle refers to the number of miles that can be driven on a fully-charged battery. The 2023 Kia EV6 can get up to an EPA-estimated 310 miles of range.

EV6 Range By Trim Level

Many factors will impact the electric range of the 2023 EV6. For example, range is reduced when the EV6 is equipped with an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) drivetrain as the battery is forced to power two motors rather than one. Additionally, the power output of the motor will impact range as a higher power output will reduce battery life more quickly. Below, we’ve broken out the 2023 EV6 all electric range by trim level.

2023 Kia EV6 Wind (RWD) Range: 310 miles

2023 Kia EV6 Wind (e-AWD) Range: 282 miles

2023 Kia EV6 GT-Line (RWD) Range: 310 miles

2023 Kia EV6 GT-Line (e-AWD) Range: 252 miles

2023 Kia EV6 GT (e-AWD) Range: 206 miles

Factors Affecting the Range of the EV6

An EV’s range is meant to provide an equivalent to the traditional miles per gallon (mpg) of a gasoline engine. However, while gasoline MPG will vary based on certain factors an electric vehicle’s range will vary widely. For example, extreme temperatures, whether cold or hot, will reduce the maximum range achieved. Aggressive braking will also reduce total range as electric vehicles use a regenerative braking system to recapture energy and recharge the battery. The total range statistics are meant to give a “ballpark” estimate rather than a firm and reliable statistic. Our advice is to not venture too far away from a charging station or you may be stuck walking to your destination.

Kia EV6 vs Hyundai Ioniq 5

Electric cars are becoming more popular every day, as people become more and more interested in reducing their carbon footprint. But with so many different electric models available, it can be tough to decide which one is right for you. In this blog post, we’ll compare the Kia EV6 and the Hyundai Ioniq 5 to help you make your decision. Both cars are excellent options, but one might be a better fit for your needs than the other. Keep reading to find out more!

Kia EV6 vs Hyundai Ioniq 5 Trim Levels

Ioniq 5

The Ioniq 5 comes in SE, SEL and Limited trim levels. Each having the same 77.4kWh battery pack producing 225hp. As standard in the SE you get ultra-fast charging, capable of 10-80% in just 18 minutes, as well as 8-way power driver seat, heated front seats, 12.3inch touch screen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, rearview camera and parking guide, keyless entry and start and cool features such as automatic retracting door handles.

SEL adds H-Tex™ leatherette seating, wireless phone charging, rear heating/cooling vents, heated steering wheel and ambient lighting to the interior, with auto dimming rear view mirror.

Limited trim adds 20inch wheels over the standard 19inch, remote smart park assist, premium exterior accents, rain sensing wipers, glass roof, power passenger seat, ventilated front seats, with driver seat memory support and relaxation function. For entertainment there is the Bose Sound System, heads up display and comes with a Hyundai digital key.

Kia EV6

Kia EV6 comes in trim levels based on rear or all-wheel drive. For rear wheel drive there is Light, Wind and GT Line. The All-wheel drive options are Wind and GT Line only. The same size 19inch wheels are available with the 20inch only available on the top GT Line AWD model.

Every trim level comes with heated power folding mirrors, high beam assist, rain sensing wipers, dual 12.3inch display with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, smart key, dual zone climate control, power driver’s seat and heated front seats.

All above the base trim gets a smart power tailgate, upgraded 14-speaker Meridian Sound System, vegan leather seats which are heated and ventilated, with passenger power adjustment and a vehicle-to-load external port – meaning you can power household appliances wherever you are (the Ioniq 5 comes with this too).

The upper trim levels are there for styling mostly. With a different steering wheel, set of pedals, door sill look and headliner, with some exterior touch ups added to the design making them seem different.

What you do have is an upgrade in power. With the e-AWD models producing 320hp, they pack a real punch over the RWD 225hp, or the base Light EV6 producing just 167hp.

The Light EV6 has the smaller 58kWh battery pack than the Ioniq 5, hence the lower starting price. If you upgrade to the 77.4kWh model this will cost at least another $6,100, making it cost slightly more than the Hyundai.

Kia EV6 vs Hyundai Ioniq 5 Price

The Kia EV6 Starts at a MSRP of $40,900, and the Ioniq 5 from $44,000. Already a slightly cheaper option, the range of up to 310 miles offers a little more for your charge than the 303 miles in the Ioniq 5 (estimated), but the EV6 range varies based on trim level.

Kia EV6 vs Hyundai Ioniq 5 Conclusion

Overall, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV 6 are similar. Kia offering a sporty and curved design over the chiseled Hyundai. The better value and range is in the Ioniq 5, but it offers less equipment as standard. The ultimate choice is basing it on design and equipment, as they are both alike.

2022 Kia Seltos Trim Levels

Kia has introduced a new ‘small’ SUV into their line up for 2022, the Seltos. Designed to sit between the Soul and the Sportage the Seltos pairs Kia’s distinctive style with practicality in a car that you can still easily nip around town in.

The 2022 Kia Seltos has 5 trim options starting at $22,590 with the LX trim up to the SX Turbo starting at $28,090.

What’s included with each trim? Let’s take a deeper look.

Kia Seltos LX

The 2022 Kia Seltos enters with the 2.0L 4-cylinder, 147HP LX Trim. This trim comes with the Intelligent Variable Transmission, a faster, more efficient automatic gearbox that is said to provide a much smoother driving feel, as well as an estimated 31mpg and all-wheel drive.

The Seltos also provides 17-inch Alloy Wheels, 8.0-inch Touchscreen Display with rear view camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Remote Keyless Entry, and Steering-Wheel Controls.

Kia has a clear focus on safety options on all their cars and there is no shortage of safety features available on the Seltos. All Trim levels come with Forward Collision-Avoidance, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, and Driver Attention Warning, High Beam Assist, Lane Following Assist and Rear Occupant Alert.

There are only 4 exterior colour options on the LX so if having an interesting colour is important you may want to look at the other trim options.

Kia Seltos S

Starting at $22,790 the Seltos S is the next trim option. There are 9 colour options including 3 dual colour ways offering different roof colour to body work. Same engine, transmission and power as the LX but comes as Front-Wheel drive with the option to change to All-Wheel drive.

The interior treats you with a larger 10.25-inch Touchscreen display with navigation, automatic climate control and leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.

Kia Seltos Nightfall Edition

The Nightfall Edition is the ‘special edition’ in this range starting from $26,790, has a 1.6L Turbocharged 4-cylinder engine pushing an extra 28 BHP over the LX and S trims. The Nightfall comes as All-wheel drive with torque vectoring, and Kia’s 7-speed Quick Shift DCT Transmission.

This trim boasts 18-inch Alloy wheels with matte black finish, black roof rails and exterior accents, and cloth seats with blue stitching detail. There are the same 9 colourways available as the S as well as the same interior and safety features.

Kia Seltos EX

Next up is the EX, starting at $25,890. Only 6 exterior colour options and no dual roof colourways. However, the EX offers both grey and black SynTex interior options. The styling is slightly different as the EX has an upgraded Grille with integrated LED light bar and power sunroof.

The engine, performance and safety are the same as the S but comes in the All-Wheel drive set up and the interior provides wireless phone charging, rear USB ports, and push button start.

Kia Seltos SX Turbo

The top trim is the SX Turbo starting at $28,090. Same performance to the Nightfall but without the Nightfall styling. The SX still comes with machine finish 18-inch alloy wheels, sport steering wheel, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, smart cruise control, and electronic parking brake.

With 12 colour options and 3 interior seat trims to choose from, the SX is the most customisable option.

The Seltos offers a great range of options to suit individual needs and of course as with all Kia models comes with their incredible 10 year/100,000 mile warranty.
